Five New Posts: One Professor, One Senior Lecturer and Three Lecturers in Law Full-time, permanent Salary range: Lecturer A: Starting at £29,972 and rising to £35,788 per annum Lecturer B: Starting at £36,862 and rising to £44,016 per annum Senior Lecturer: Starting at £45,336 and rising to £52,556 per annum Professorial Salary is determined by negotiation, but the minimum full-time salary was £54,133 per annum as of October 2011 Expected start date: 1st September 2012 or at an earlier date to be agreed
The Sussex Law School is a successful research-led law school, recently ranked in the top ten of UK University Law Schools in the Sunday Times University Guide. The Sussex Law School is embarking on a process of significant growth and expansion and is seeking to appoint to five new positions within the department: one Professor, one Senior Lecturer and three Lecturers in Law.
We welcome applications from individuals who will make outstanding research contributions in any of the areas of research within the Sussex Law School covering the broad areas of responsibilities and rights; constitutionalism and citizenship; criminal law and criminal justice; governance; solidarity; security. Candidates should be willing to undertake teaching in one of the following subjects: Public Law; Criminal Law; Land Law, Equity and Trusts, Contract Law, Criminology; Human Rights; Environmental Law; International Criminal Law; Commercial Law; International Trade Law; Law for Business Students.
Applicants for the Professorial position will be expected to make a significant contribution to advance further the growth of the Sussex Law School through leadership, expertise and mentoring in research and teaching in criminal law and justice in its domestic, European or international contexts.
