Vol. 3. Selected papers from the 1999 British Criminology Conference, Liverpool. Volume Editors: George Mair and Roger Tarling. June 2000.

Editors' Note

This volume brings together a selection of papers presented at the British Society of Criminology conference held in Liverpool in July 1999. The conference, which takes place biannually, attracts over 400 delegates from around the world. The international flavour of the conference is reflected in the collection published here.

Any presenter at the conference could submit his or her paper for consideration for publication. An Editorial Board was convened, drawn from members of the local conference organising committee at Liverpool John Moores University, the organisers of the conference themes and members of the Executive Committee of the British Society of Criminology. The papers submitted were subjected to full peer review procedures. Each was assessed by two independent reviewers, a member of the Editorial Board and the Editors of this volume.
