Editor’s Note

This volume brings together a selection of papers presented at the British Society of Criminology conference held in Leicester in July 2000.

Any presenter at the conference could submit his or her paper for consideration for publication. An Editorial Board was convened, comprising members of the Local Steering Committee for the conference at the University of Leicester and the Executive Committee of the British Society of Criminology. The papers submitted were subject to full peer review procedures. Each was assessed by independent reviewers, a member of the Editorial Board and the Editor of this volume.
